A work of Fiction

I have always enjoyed fictional writing, novels that allow you to imagine what could be but are just a little bit to "out there" to ever be reality.  I wonder what would happen if I tried to write a book of fiction.....

I would have to start with a villain, lets see, how about a man that comes from seemingly nowhere with a cloudy past raked with controversy and is suddenly thrust into a powerful position.  This man would have to be evil, with no conscience and limitless ambition.  He would have access to limitless funds, his own private army, and horrible weapons.  His specialties would be wreaking havoc on the innocent and unsuspecting. And he would come so very close to succeeding.

I would need some not so smart cronies, the idealistic simpletons who do his bidding.  They would seek out and punish all who stood in his way, happily destroying lives and helping the villain to seize the power he so craves.

I would also need the traitors, those who sell out their friends and families for greed.  They are the type that don't mind going to hell so long as they stand at the devils feet instead of dancing in the fire.

The backdrop cast, the ones that go about their day unsuspecting that the world is crumbling around them; their eyes closed to the evil that walks in their mist, until it's to late.

And the hero, that selfless champion who fights the villain against all odds. He's smarter and stronger, and seeks only the reward of righteousness.  Even outnumbered a hundred to one, while pursued night and day, he continues on until finally, in the end, he destroys the villain and restores peace to the world.

Yeah, that would be a great story, to bad real life isn't like a book.....
