The Duck Commander

I decided to wait a few days before I commented on the Phil Robertson’s interview with GQ magazine.  I knew immediately that Phil’s comments would ignite a media firestorm against Christians, I was not wrong.  Phil’s comments on sin, and specifically on homosexuality set everyone, even Fox News spinning on their ears.  Even the most conservative commentators prefaced their monologs (and almost every sentence) by saying, “while I don’t agree with Mr. Robertson”, even while spouting that they, themselves were Christians.  Bill O’Reilly pointed out that only God could pass judgment upon man, which is true.  However, Phil was not judging, he was merely pointing out what God has already deemed sinful behavior.

The fact is that if you are a Christian, as I am, you understand that homosexuals are committing a sin.  If they continue this practice throughout their lives and never repent of their sin, they will go to hell.  That is not supposition it is fact.  Yes, if they truly repent and ask forgiveness for their sin, with an honest heart they will be forgiven, that is just the way it works.

As for the way Phil explained his viewpoints, again he was just telling the truth in the most direct way he could.  Pro-gay advocates can try to explain homosexuality any way that want, no matter how they try to spin their view point; it still comes down to the fact that it is an unnatural act.  Nature has a way of working things out in the most expedient manner.  The urge to procreate in animals (including us) occurs for one reason, to reproduce.  To stimulate the natural urge to continue the species, the body releases chemicals into the body that makes a person feel good when procreating.  Thus the mating “urge”.  Now nature also has a way of eliminating things that are not necessary for the survival of the species.  Biologically, it is necessary to humans to have a male and female in order to reproduce.  Therefore, two males, or females for that matter cannot produce an offspring.  Even with today’s technology, we cannot reproduce with only a male sperm or female egg.  In essence, nature is ensuring that homosexual activity is limited to one generation.  It prevents the flaw from being passed on to a second generation by necessitating heterosexual behavior in order to reproduce.  If it were not so, humans would spontaneously change sex when in a single sex environment, just like several amphibians do.

Now I’m going to get into something a little gross, so don’t let the kids read this.  Some pro-gay folk would argue that if my explanation about the mating “urge” is true, why do gays like the feeling of being sodomized.  That is your body being tricked by biology.  Your body releases chemicals that make you feel good for several reasons, mostly to promote some type of necessary behavior.  In the case of pleasure attained from homosexual behavior, is because your body releases a small about of chemicals in order to promote good bowel movements.  The intent of the chemical release is to cause you to flex and relax thereby pushing waste from your body.  Now I am going to get crude, the friction against the prostate gland and anal ring caused by the introduction of a foreign object into the anus mimics a turd.  Therefore, the pleasure a person feels from the introduction of foreign objects into the rectum is an unnatural act.

The Drive from Poverty

“I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed...that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.” ― Benjamin Franklin

I retrieved this quote was from a speech Mr. Franklin made on  November 29th 1766 while talking about the Management of the Poor in the American Colonies.  Note that this speech was made prior to the signing Declaration of Independence and ten years prior to the beginning of the Revolutionary War.   In other words, here is proof that one of the founding fathers of our country held the opinion the enablement of mediocrity within our society is detrimental to the success of our country. Yet, the progressive left persists in claiming that it was the intent of our founding fathers that we as a society provide "a living wage", universal healthcare, social welfare, and any other nanny state program that they can dream up to ensure a permanent welfare class within our country.
I believe, as did Mr. Franklin, that the best way to encourage an individual to strive for self improvement is to make him or her uncomfortable in their current environment.  I do not believe that we should allow our citizens to starve, however I do not believe that people who rely on Government food stamp assistance should be free to choose what they purchase with the money that is given to them freely by the Government who obtained the funds from the labor of its working citizens.  Staple goods such as, bread, rice, beans, and an allotment of meat, (not steak, mind you but a cheaper cut of beef pork or chicken) could be provided to those in need of government assistance to get them through hard times.  Dairy products should be limited to powdered milk and processed cheese ( I lived off of these items for months at a time while deployed in combat zones in the military, and stayed in excellent physical condition therefore I know they provide adequate nutrition).  These items should be given out monthly at allotment stations, immediately after they pass a required urine analysis, and have their employment records updated showing that they attempted to make at least two attempts per week to find employment.  I understand that at times the lines could be long, but as I said people should not be comfortable in poverty, free food should require some sacrifice from the recipient, and those truly in need would have the resolve to be patient.
Individuals who wish to obtain government financed housing should be required to perform a minimum of  eight hours a week community service improving the community which provides them with a roof over their head.  Public welfare should be discontinued completely.  The idea of paying someone money simply because they have none is obscene.
Instead of Government welfare, perhaps a Federal work program should be implemented, it would not take much and could integrated into many facets of the Federal system very easily.   Its simple and the models are already in place, all the Government would have to do is look at any temporary employment agency and follow their policy.  If a person is broke and cannot find a job, then he goes to the local government office and says " I want to work"  the office looks up an opening for the day and sends them out.  At the end of the week the person's account is credited for the hours worked at a standard minimum wage.  Private businesses could buy into this service for simply labor.  they could also use this program as a "testing field" for potential full time employees.  Anything from janitorial, clerical, or simple labor jobs (using a shovel, rake, or hoe).  The State and local Government could also draw from this pool, cleaning up roadways, state parks, tearing down dilapidated housing, simple jobs that require no skill set but allow the person to earn the money they receive rather than it being handed to them.
I would also attach a jobs program to adult education centers.  For every three days in the classroom two days of compulsory labor would be required.  This would encourage the students to pay attention and learn the skills they require quickly.
I understand that these ideas seem radical, however, I believe that we have reached a point in our country where radical ideas are quickly becoming necessary if we are to survive as a nation.  There is a revolution coming, whether it ends in a country we recognize is yet to be seen.

The Perversion of a Dream

Today, America honors the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was instrumental in the Civil Rights movement of the late 1950s and 1960s.  Since that time, Dr. King’s name has become synonymous with equal rights for blacks.  He is quoted time and again in speeches, sermons, and in print; his likeness is plastered on everything from buildings to t-shirts, and his name is evoked constantly by politicians, activists, and clergy when they want to really drive home a point. We even have a national holiday commemorating his birthday.

Dr. King wanted equality for minorities in America; in his famous “I have a dream” Dr. King stated hoped that his children would be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character

So if Dr. King is such an icon for the black community, why have so many people denigrated his memory by their actions?  James Cone, who was born in Fordyce, Arkansas and developed Black Liberation Theology, has twisted Dr. King’s words to advance his radical agenda of reparations and white hatred. The Black Panther Party uses Dr. King as a rallying cry for militant action against whites even though Dr. King was dedicated to non-violence.  People like Jesse Jackson, Lewis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright, Benjamin Jealous, and countless others distort Dr, King’s message of equality as a means to advance their own careers and line their pockets by spreading hate, suspicion and divisiveness.  Like James Cone, they advocate self-pity and entitlement instead of independence and self-sufficiency for the black community.

Dr, King did not want special treatment for the black community. He did not want pity, or special privilege.  He wanted an equal playing field.  He got his wish, but his “dream” has turned into a nightmare of special interest and hypocrisy by many in the black community.Dr. King’s message has become perverted by self-serving liberalists who use the illusion of black discrimination for the purpose of manipulation against the uniformed and ignorant.

So Happy Birthday Dr. King, I wonder if your resting well………………

It's Black and White People

Good morning, to all my readers on this 20th day of January.  While watching Meet the Press this morning I was inspired to relate a particularly significant point that to some, may seem a bit callus, others may think I am being outright offensive.      Truth be told, it is something that needs not only to be said, but absorbed by everyone in this country.  Today’s topic of discussion is racial sensitivity.

During the program, NBC correspondent Chuck Todd produced an NBC poll which showed that 74% of the country liked President Obama personally while only 47% of the liked his policies.  The pundits then began their predictable examination of the polling results, bloviating about Obama’s hyperbolic deeds that have set forth this country into a new age of nirvana.  Indeed if we could all be as grand as Obama, the world would be a veritable Utopia within the course of our lifetime.  Of course that is all bull dropping…

The fact is that Obama’s unexplainable popularity is a result of conditioning not unlike that of the experiment performed by Ivan Pavlov, a Nobel Prize winning Russian physiologist.  Since the civil rights movement of the 1960s, Caucasian people have been conditioned to believe that it is insensitive to speak ill of blacks for any reason, and additionally, that any immoral act committed by a black person was not their fault, but the fault of society as a whole.  The advent of Black Liberation theology is an example of this conditioning, where a black person believes that he is owed something simply because of the color of his or her skin.

Additionally, Caucasian people have perpetuated this line of thinking by taking responsibility for imaginary slights within society.  Simply mentioning the word Inner city, or urban is supposed to be a slight against black people.  You can’t say that Obama takes too much time off is insinuating that he is lazy and that’s a slur against black people.  I’m sorry but there are lazy black people just as there are lazy white, yellow, brown, and red people.  People, can be and are lazy.  The problem is that we can no longer tell the truth, as it is because we have been conditioned to be politically correct and oversensitive towards racial sensitivity.

Therefore, here is what I believe about the polling that I observed this morning.  I believe that most of the people contacted did not want to appear racist, so they said that they liked Obama personally, however they disagreed with his policies.  No one wants to be labeled as a racist, even if it is an anonymous polling.  The fact that we have been conditioned to lie to appear one way when we really feel another because of “racial sensitivity” is causing irreparable damage to this country.  Eventually emotions will boil over and people will act upon their growing animosity towards one another.  That is why in an age where we have a black president that has just been reelected to a second term; racial tensions within the country are at level not seen in decades.

The Revolution is coming

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.- Thomas Jefferson

Any people anywhere being inclined and having the power have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable, a most sacred right — a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people that can may revolutionize and make their own of so much of the territory as they inhabit.  -Abraham Lincoln

I would like to talk about very real possibility of systemic change within our political system during our lifetimes.  The independent spirit in America is virtually nonexistent, people become more apathetic with each generation.  Unemployment has become a career for many as has social welfare.  There are many generational dependents with our society, something that is new to the country; two, three, and even four generations of families that have been completely dependent upon the government for health care, food, and housing.  Politicians have seized upon this section of the populace to broaden their political base, and with it, their power within our country.  When you add the rising national debt, the high general unemployment due to over regulation of commerce and production, and the widespread ignorance of a population that has become desensitized towards the dishonest practices of its elected officials, it creates a catalyst for an overall governmental destabilization.

This does not create an implosion of the government as one may think; rather it opens the door for a more stringent means of governance by the controlling powers. Once again, take the Connecticut school shooting for example.  Our country has been on edge for several years over multiple mass killings by individuals.  These killings as a whole do not compare to the annual murder rate of a medium sized city, as a matter of fact more people were killed with hammers last year than were killed in all of the mass shootings combined over the last 10 years.  Yet, according to the Obama administration and media, there is a sudden overwhelming outcry for sweeping gun regulation throughout the country.  The truth is that the average citizen sees the mass shootings as a tragedy committed by individuals for a variety of reasons known only to the gunmen themselves.

Additionally, the Obama administration is recruiting businesses to make it harder for gun manufacturers and merchants to distribute weapons and ammunition.  I contacted the Wal-Mart main office this week and was told that they are no longer ordering ammunition.   I was also told that Academy Sports has pulled weapons from their shelves.  This happened within days of representatives from both companies meeting with the Obama administration.  Is it just me or does it appear that the Obama administration is interfering with the free market within our country once again.  This time however, they are interfering with something that has a direct consequence to our citizens 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms.

I was also told today that Bank of America will no longer allow its customer to purchase weapons or ammunition using their credit or debit cards.  This bank is now trying to regulate what people do with their money.  I propose that everyone spread the word as quickly as possible to boycott Bank of America and close any account that may be associated with this bank or any of its subsidiaries.

To all my readers, I would like you to stop right now and re-read the opening paragraph of this entry.  I do not want anyone to believe me an alarmist; however the events of the past four years lead me to believe that a reckoning is close at hand.  Ask yourself what you will do when the government announces a mandatory turn in of the shotgun or rifle that has been in your family for three generations.  What will you do when you receive word that your will be prosecuted because you passed down a gun to your son as a present without paying the fee for a background check at a registered firearms dealer.  What will you do when the government begins posting rewards for information on gun owners and your neighbor turns you in?  These are not paranoid accusations that I’m making, these are things that have already been proposed.  President Obama has publicly said that he will do anything within his power to remove guns from the hands of the populace.  They are looking into the effects of lead into the environment in an effort to say that bullets are harming the earth.  They are attempting to create ammunition that only lasts so long.  Diane Feinstein wants to have all ammunition registered.  The executive orders President Obama issued today are only the beginning.

Readers, keep this next quote in mind over the next few days and give it some serious thought…

Liberty has never come from the government. Liberty has always come from the subjects of the government. The history of government is a history of resistance. The history of liberty is the history of the limitation of government, not the increase of it.-Woodrow Wilson

Executive Orders

Before I begin tonight’s blog entry, I would like to relate an ancient parable which seems relevant given the nature of my topic.  This parable can be traced back to ancient times, and though the characters may change dependent upon the story teller, the moral of the story is consistent and quite profound.

Once upon a time a fox was trying to cross a river. The river was deep, and the current was strong, but the fox desperately needed to get to the other side. As he pondered his plight, a scorpion approached him. The fox was fearful and backed away in apprehension, but the scorpion spoke to him in reassuring words.

“There is no need to be frightened of me, for we both face the same predicament. I too want to cross the river; but if I try, I will drown.  I have come to make a deal with you. If I take you to a place that is shallow enough for you to cross, will you carry me on your back, so that I too may cross?”

The fox was still suspicious of the scorpion, but he really wanted to cross the river. “What guarantee can you give me that you won’t sting me if I carry you across?”, the fox asked.

“On my life I promise that I won’t sting you”, the scorpion replied. “Besides, if I sting you, we both will drown”.

The fox mulled the proposal over and over, and despite being one of the smartest creatures in the land, could find no flaw in the scorpion’s reasoning.  “Alright, you have a deal”, the fox said. “Take me to the shallow spot, and I will carry you across.” So off the two traveled, side by side until they reached a bend in the river where the water slowed and shallowed considerably. “Climb on my back, and I’ll carry you across”, the fox spoke cheerfully.

The scorpion hopped on the fox’s back, and they ventured out into the river. The scorpion had been right. The water was shallow enough to cross, and the fox happily hummed to himself as he easily swam the distance. But right as he reached the deepest point of the river, he felt a sharp pang in the back of his neck.. The scorpion had stung him. He struggled against the poison and the current, but it was too late. He knew he was going to drown. With his last breaths, he cried”.  “Why did you sting me? now we will both drown”!  “Because I am a scorpion”, his rider replied, “It is my nature”.

The nation is still reeling from the school shooting in Connecticut that happened recently, and in an effort to capitalize on the tragedy, Vice President Biden announced today that President Obama is considering drafting an Executive Order to facilitate some yet undisclosed sweeping gun ban upon the country.  Opinions vary as to the extent of the ban, but it is generally thought that it will include, so called “assault rifles” and high capacity magazines. President Obama has publicly stated that firearm regulation is currently his top priority, and there is no doubt in my mind that he will attempt to extend the powers of the Executive Branch once again.

I call to your attention the definition of Executive Order- A presidential policy directive that implements or interprets a federal statute, a constitutional provision, or a treaty by Executive Fiat.

The use of the Executive Order was never designed to make changes to the constitution, which would, in essence, occur if the President follows through on his inclination.  The most disturbing portion of this definition is the term Executive Fiat- A command or act of will that creates something without or as if without further effort; An authoritative determination or dictate; An authoritative or arbitrary order or decree.

See what I mean..

President Obama has used Executive Fiat to extend the powers of the Executive Branch and expand the size of government more than any president in history.  Here are some numbers for you:

Number of Executive Orders signed by recent Presidents during their tenure

Jimmy Carter 3 (four year term)

Ronald Reagan 5 (eight year term)

Herbert Walker Bush 3 (four year term)

Bill Clinton 18 (eight year term)

George W. Bush 111(eight year term)

Barrack Obama 145 (first four year term)

Many of these Executive orders were used in order to facilitate the creation of new groups within the government, here are several:

·         Establishing the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board

·         Establishment of the White House Office of Urban Affairs

·         Establishing a White House Council on Women and Girls

·         Establishment of the White House Office of Health Reform

·         Establishing a White House Council on Automotive Communities and Workers

·         Establishment of the Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force

·         Establishing the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues

·         Establishment of the Council of Governors

·         President's Advisory Council on Financial Capability

·         National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform

·         Interagency Group on Insular Areas

·         Establishing the President's Management Advisory Board

·         Establishing the National Prevention, Health Promotion, and Public Health Council

·         President's Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition

·         Establishing the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Task Force

·         White House Council for Community Solutions

·         Establishment of The President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness

·         Establishment of the Intellectual Property Enforcement Advisory Committees

·         Establishment of the White House Rural Council

·         Establishing the President's Global Development Council

·         Establishment of the Interagency Trade Enforcement Center

·         on Strong CEstablishing a White House Council ities, Strong Communities

·         Establishing the White House Homeland Security Partnership Council

·         Establishment of an Interagency Task Force on Commercial Advocacy

·         Reestablishment of Advisory Group

·         Establishing the Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force

·         Reestablishment of Advisory Commission

These groups, Commissions, and Task Forces were created without Congressional Consent and are funded by our tax dollars. No other President has taken such bold steps to increase the size of the Government, yet somehow, the American people have let it happen.  If President Obama has done this much in his first four years, what will he do in his second term?  President Obama believes that big government is the future of this country.  By his own writings we can see that he subscribes to a socialistic ideology that places the citizens under the thumb of the government “for their own good”.  It is time for the country to wake up and realize how our rights are being stolen from us.  If our country continues to allow President Obama to expand his power we will all eventually drown in a river of oppression.  President Obama cannot help himself; it is his nature…..

Posterity! you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it. -John Adams

The people have always some champion whom they set over them and nurse into greatness...  This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears he is a protector. -Plato

The takover has begun

A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. –The Bill of Rights

I consider my Second Amendment Right to bear arms as the most important single right under the Constitution.  Some people may believe this strange; however, it is this right that allows me to actively protect all other rights guaranteed by our forefathers.   Here are a few examples of what our founding fathers thought about the right to bear arms:

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government" - Thomas Jefferson

"The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good"-- George Washington

"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed."              - Alexander Hamilton

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin,

"The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able may have a gun." - Patrick Henry

It seems that they had a pretty clear opinion about firearm ownership.  As most of you know, I enjoy watching conservative commentary on television.  The O’Reilly Factor is one of my favorite programs, and for the most part I believe that Bill gets it right.  However, I disagree strongly with him on the gun control issue.  I believe that he means well, I just think that he is badly misinformed.  If you watch his program, you can easily see that he is not well versed in firearms.  He does not know the difference in semi-auto and automatic, and believes that AR style weapons are considered heavy weapon systems.  He, like so many pundits try to articulate a point without being educated on the nomenclature of the different weapon systems.  Bill has also made the comment that anyone that wants to own an assault rifle to protect themselves against the government is a loon.  He could not be more wrong, we have only to examine this quote to see the folly of his statement.

The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so. – Adolf Hitler

Also, a common analogy from the far left is that the founding fathers did not take into consideration the advances in weaponry when the Second Amendment was written, once again I must disagree.  When the Constitution was drafted muzzle loading rifles were the vanguard of technology in weaponry, however, they were not the only weapons used in that era.  The founding fathers could have very easily said that citizens should be allowed only bows, arrows, and swords to be possessed by the citizenry.  Instead they left the description of arms open for future generations, knowing that technology would advance through the ages.  Our founding fathers used the most advanced weapons of the time to obtain the freedoms we enjoy today; therefore it stands to reason that it was their intent we be allowed access to the best weapons to fit our needs in order to preserve our way of life.

For the last several days, the all the media outlets have been inundated with propaganda concerning gun control.  As of today, President Obama has appointed Vice President Joe Biden as the head of a new Gun Violence Task Force.  VP Biden was one of the authors of the 1994 Gun Control Act, and one of the most anti-gun members of the Democratic Party.

Here’s the problem with Gun Control, it doesn’t work.  When you enact gun control on a population that already has over 300 million weapons within its populace, the only people who get restricted are the legitimate gun owners.  You do not stop criminals from obtaining a gun by placing restrictions on gun sales, because criminals do not obtain guns through legitimate sources, and with the amount of guns already in circulation, it would be a virtual impossibility to stem the black market trade of guns in the United States if all gun production was ceased immediately.  Additionally, the shipping routes used by drug smugglers into the United States are well developed and only marginally controlled by federal agencies.  The flow of cocaine, meth, and other illicit drugs pours into the country virtually unchecked.  By banning assault weapons in the United States, we would only create a new market for illegal gun trafficking from other countries.

Let’s talk for a moment about Assault rifles and high capacity magazines. What makes an assault rifle an assault rifle?  Is it the caliber of the round? No, assault rifles come in a variety of rounds and these same rounds are used in single shot, bolt action, pump, and lever action rifles.  Is it the round capacity?  No, the magazines on most assault rifles are independent of the weapon system and vary in capacity, as do magazines for hunting and sport rifles.  So what makes an assault rifle an assault rifle?  The correct answer is the rate of fire.  An assault rifle fires either fully automatic or at a burst rate of several rounds with the single pull of a trigger.  And assault rifles can only be obtained in the United States with a specialized license that requires an in-depth background check by the ATF.  These licenses are difficult to obtain and very expensive.  What most people call an assault rifle is just a military Style weapon in a semi-automatic configuration.  The reason the rifles are popular is due to several issues, one of which is pop culture.  The ergonomical design of the weapons makes them attractive to sport shooters and their compactness and ease of use make them a viable option for home defense. There has been a stigma attached to these military style weapons over the last three decades due to their portrayal in violent movies, however, internally, they are no different than your grandpa’s repeating hunting rifle.

As to high capacity magazines for weapons, it only takes one bullet to kill.  High capacity magazines are a convenience for sport shooters, hunters and for home defense.  Anyone bent on participating in a mass killing can train themselves in very little time, to reload a 10 round magazine and maintain the same rate of fire as someone with a thirty round magazine if fired from the same semiautomatic weapon.  If you don’t believe me and wish to make a bet, come by my house, bring money, and I will instruct you on what is called a combat reloading sequence.

Today, Dianne Feinstein made the comment, “Weapons of war do not belong on our streets, in our classrooms, in our schools or in our movie theatres”.   Does anyone else notice that these are areas where citizens are typically banned from carrying guns (without a carry permit, and in some cases they are still banned)?  I submit to you, that education, enforcement of current laws with the harsh penalties, and public awareness are the key to stopping mass shootings in our country. A weapon in hand does no harm; it is the heart that commits acts of evil.

Congresswoman Feinstein, like so many liberals believe that the solution is more government control.  They believe that Americans are no longer smart enough to take care of ourselves, and that they need to take control of every facet of our lives.  They want to make the American people into no more than pets in their private terrarium, where we are allowed to come out and play, but only under their supervision.  They will control what toys we have and what we eat and drink; and we will be happy just surviving.

I don’t think so…

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
